We’re always honoured to be invited into our client’s homes, especially when it’s a property that requires a new set of eyes to bounce around different ideas – after the initial meeting clients regularly let us know how impressed they are with our vast experience and practical ideas.
When we met up with the prospective buyers of The Granary, the kitchen looked worn and tired. The clients were considering removing a feature brick wall and the terra cotta floor. We advised against both and recommended hiding the worst of the brick wall with a run of tall cabinets and painting the exposed brickwork. After giving the floor a good clean it looked beautiful so no need run to the expense of changing it.
The final design that the clients signed off created a wonderful living space complete with a table (made from one of the cell doors originating from Oxford Jail) and sofa. We used our most popular granite (Absolute Nero Honed) on the outer work surfaces and Black American Walnut for the island. Timber worktops are lacquered and sealed to avoid repetitive maintenance (linseed oiled tops are available if preferred).
The clients were delighted with their kitchen and have since sold the property and we’ve supplied another kitchen for their latest home. The purchasers commented that the kitchen clinched the sale – great news for us to hear!
